The Sierra Foothills is the largest wine district in California with over 2.9 million acres yet has the smallest number of acres planted. The wineries are intimate and the area is rich in history. Below are only a few links to sites which may be of interest in planning your trip to this area.
Some of the wineries in the area date back to the 1800s. Fair Play has many wineries with 3 more opening this year.
Although Fair Play is in El Dorado County, we are within a few miles of Amador County -- famous for its old zinfandels.
